We understand that starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions. Whether you’re curious about the process, costs, or how therapy works, we’re here to provide clarity. Below are some of the most common questions we receive to help you feel informed and confident about taking the next step toward healing. If you have any other questions please contact us.

  • I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology and Health Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

My career journey has provided me with diverse and meaningful experience. I initially worked as a Recreation Therapist in long-term care, focusing on the emotional and psychological well-being of seniors. This role allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the aging population and the importance of supporting mental health through creative and engaging therapeutic interventions.

Following this, I worked as a float nurse in a hospital setting, gaining experience across several key areas including surgery, internal medicine, and mental health units. In particular, my work in psychiatric emergency care deepened my skills in crisis intervention, assessment, and managing complex mental health issues under high-pressure conditions.

After completing my Master’s in Counseling Psychology, I transitioned to private practice, where I specialize in providing therapy to individuals and couples. Using evidence-based approaches, I tailor treatment plans to address each client’s unique needs, whether they are navigating personal challenges, managing mental health concerns, or strengthening their relationship.

  • If you're wondering whether counseling is right for you, ask yourself if you're feeling overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or simply longing for personal growth. Counseling isn’t just for those in crisis—it’s for anyone looking to improve their mental and emotional well-being.

You might consider therapy if you:

    • Find it hard to manage stress or anxiety, especially if it’s impacting your day-to-day life.

    • Have experienced trauma, loss, or major life changes that continue to affect you.

    • Struggle with communication, setting boundaries, or maintaining healthy relationships.

    • Battle negative self-talk, low self-esteem, or feelings of being “stuck” in life.

    • Want to build emotional resilience and develop healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges.

If you're still unsure, we offer free consultations to help you explore whether therapy is the right fit for you. Taking that first step toward counseling can offer clarity and the support needed to navigate difficult emotions, develop stronger coping skills, and create a healthier, more fulfilling life. here

  • Yes, we provide in-person sessions in downtown Burlington, with plenty of parking available at 534 Brant Street, L7R 2G8. We also offer virtual sessions if you prefer to do therapy from the comfort of your own home.

  • The first session depends on the individual, but in general, it serves as an intake session. This is a chance for your therapist to get to know you better and understand your unique needs and goals. During this session, your therapist will:

    • Discuss your current concerns, life history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy.

    • Explain their approach to counseling and how they can best support you.

    • Answer any questions you may have about the process.

There’s no pressure to share everything immediately—you set the pace. Whether you’re looking for immediate tools to manage stress or want to explore deeper issues over time, your therapist will tailor the session to fit your needs.oes here
